Great selection of used cars
Purchased a truck from Northeast Auto on December 22, 2015. Dealt with Jeremy Swartz. The truck test drove great, Jeremy assured us it was a great truck, his daily driver and that he put 2,000-3,000 miles on this truck. As soon as we left the dealership and headed home, the truck started to make an awful rumbling noise. We decided to wait to ask Jeremy about it to see if it was just a one time thing, or it if would do it again as we traveled out of town for Christmas. The truck did it the entire time we were gone, so we called Jeremy back on December 29, 2015 and told him about the problem and asked what he would do to make it right and stand behind his vehicle. He offered to change the spark plugs for cost of the plugs (he offered this because we mentioned that we thought this was the issue), and he didnt even want to properly diagnose the issue. We had a day set up to take the truck up to him for him to have a mechanic look at, and that morning he called and told us he didn't have a mechanic available that day. So, after we were sick of going back and forth with this man, we decided to take the truck to a trusted mechanic of our choice and get the truck properly diagnosed. The diagnosis came back that the motor was bad and needed to be replaced. We also learned that from the time Northeast Auto bought the truck, and it sat on their lot, 600 miles had been put on the truck, not 2,000-3,000! We then called back to Northeast Auto to explain the issue, and asked how they were going to help us out. They basically said they wouldn't. We tried several times to give them a chance to make things right. After getting sick of dealing with Jeremy who is just a salesman, we asked to get the owners name and number. Jeremy wouldn't give us that information. After doing out own research we found the owner, Johnny Saathoff, who then told us he knew the truck had a rumble and told us he thought it was the timing chain and the cam phasers (again, wanting to just replace and tighten those without getting it properly diagnosed.). All of theses fixes the dealership has offered, are all "band aid" fixes to get the truck by for another 50k miles or so, and then, we'll be back in the same position we are in now, Faced with dumping more money into the truck, or biting the bullet and replacing the motor in a truck we were promised was a reliable, good truck. These are also fixes that will be covered 100% under warranty and won't be any money out of pocket for the dealership. However, warranty is only good for $3,000, and after so many repairs, we will run out of warranty. We've now decided to make it reliable truck, get the entirety of the $3,000 out of our warranty and are forced to have to pay the rest 100% out of own pocket because Northeast Auto will not stand behind their vehicles. After posting my testimony on Facebook, I have encountered 4 other people who have also been screwed over by Northeast Auto. I have been contacted by Johnny and asked to remove my honest reviews of their business and my testimonies online but still doesn't want to help us out to change our opinion and reviews. I urge all buyers to stay away from Northeast Auto and let our mistakes (any many others) to be your gain! Don't buy from Northeast Auto!!
